  • Just a little investigating I was doing, curious how much locomotives actually cost. Well, for a brand new Diesel locomotive, you're looking at a minimum of $1.5 million. For just a locomotive. Not to mention the wagons, cost to run, permission from rail roads (which is unlikely for personal reasons), etc. etc.

    However, I stumbled across this:

A 100% complete life-size and running train set, including locomotive, wagons, rails, a few rail switches, and even signs, all for $149,000!

All you'd need is a good chunk of land to set it up on, a few people to help you, and fuel.

    Cheers!
