This is {{Reward link and image}}. Editors should call this template using the shortcut {{rli}}.

This is the new layout for all rewards within contract lists on TrainStation Wiki. The syntax is fairly simple. The template accepts data for one reward, then displays a link to the item's article page and basic information about the item. In the next column (which has no header), it displays an image of the item. Whistles and resources display normally, with the extra column left blank. This page contains a blank template for editors to copy. Refer to the syntax below the blank template for explanations and instructions.

Blank template

This blank template makes it easy to add a new reward item and its image to a contract list. Unlike most pre-formatted templates on TrainStation Wiki, editors should add only the parameters they need each time they use the template.
{{rli|<quantity>|<item name.OR.resource>|<type>|<additional parameters>}}

Syntax

Basic information

Basic information for each reward item includes three required pieces of data.
Enter only the information without the parameter name.

  • quantity - The number of items rewarded by the contractor. Enter as a plain number with no text.
  • item name - The PAGENAME of the item's article page. Item names are always case-sensitive.
    • Remember that the item name must exactly match the page name to create the proper page link and image link. This includes anything in (parentheses).
  • type - The type of item. Enter only the appropriate one- or two-letter code from the list below.
    • b - building
    • d - decoration
    • f - flag
    • sl - steam locomotive
    • dl - diesel locomotive
    • el - electric locomotive
    • ml - maglev locomotive
    • hl - hyperloop locomotive
    • p - people wagon

    • pm - people & mail (combined) wagon
    • x - XP (special) wagon
    • c - cargo wagon
    • r - resources (gems, gold, materials, or whistles)

Whistles and resources

When a contractor gives whistles or resources as a reward, enter quantity and type normally. For the second parameter, enter the first four letters of the name of the resource, all lowercase.

Additional parameters

After the item type, enter all additional parameters required for that type.
Enter each parameter name followed by the information. Separate each parameter with the pipe | character.

    • pass= passengers per hour the building generates. Enter as a plain number.
    • size= building's size, in number of spaces. Enter as a plain number.

Item names with restricted characters

In rare cases, the name of a rewarded item will contain one or more characters that are disallowed in image file names. Other characters may change their behavior within the template.

Disallowed characters

If the image name cannot match the page name because of disallowed characters in the item name, add parameter img= followed by the appropriate file name, without the extension (.png). For example,
img=Gresley LNERx

Behavior-changing characters

Certain characters gain formatting functions within Wikitext, which may result in unexpected output. To work around this situation, use a special template in place of the problematic character. For example,

  • Use {{*}} instead of *.
  • Use {{!}} instead of |.
