|The BB 66000 is a very important diesel-electric locomotive of the French railway company SNCF. Several other locomotive series were designed and build upon this model. Examples include BB 66400, BB 66600, BB 66700, BB 69200 and BB 69400, as well as some prototypes. BB 66000 is a mixed purpose locomotive, serving both passenger and freight lines. Originally, the first series were limited tor each maximum speed of 105km/h, but were soon upgraded to reach 120km/h. Due to their reliability in service, these locomotives were nicknamed as "bonnes à tout faire", which stands for "maid" or "housemaid".|
