The Softronic Phoenix is an electric locomotive made in Romania by the Softonic company. It's design and specifications were the basis for the next locomotive to come from the company Softronic, the TransMontana. Some components from older locomotives, such as Class 41, were used in making the Phoenix Prototype, but all the locomotives fabricated after the prototype was tested and passed the tests were built as completely new units. Locomotives of Phoenix class have power of 5100 kW which can be increased to 6600 kW for a short period of time. |
