| The Pennsylvania Railroad's T1 class duplex-drive steam locomotives were introduced in 1942 and produced in 1946. They were PRR's last built and most controversial steam engines. T1s were technologically sophisticated, powerful, fast, and uniquely streamlined. However, they were also prone to violent wheelslip both when starting and at speed, complicated to maintain, and expensive to run.|
