One of the V8 class of thirty-seven 3800HP electric locomotives. These were built by General Electric in the 1940s for Companhia Paulista and Ferro Central in Brazil. The design was based on the New Haven EP4 class. The locomotives were withdrawn from service in 1999.
| Fepasa V8 in São Paulo, or "Escandalosa" (portuguese for "Scandalous") in Rio de Janeiro, was a kind of electric locomotive built by General Electric for New Haven, based on the EP-4 model, although their characteristics on the American railway differed on operational voltages, pantographs and bogies. While American bogies had their outside frames fused, thus attached, Brazilian V8's were of the archbar type, hence lighter and more easily adapted to 1600 mm gauges.|
