|The SD70 is a 6-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by EMD. Several models are available, with power output of 4,000-4,500HP (3,000-3,400kW). More than 4,300 have been built since production started in 1992 and the locomotives operate on four continents. Union Pacific owns more than 2,000 SD70s and BNSF has more than 1,400. The Erie Railroad ceased to exist in 1960, long before the first SD70 was built, but Norfolk Southern's number 1068 has been painted in "heritage" Erie colours.|
| The SD70 is a series of diesel-electric locomotives produced by the EMD beginning in 1992. Over 4000 locomotives in this series have been produced, mostly of the SD70M and SD70MAC models. All locomotives of this series are hood units with C-C trucks. The SD70M-2 is a DC traction version of the SD70ACe, and the two models are nearly identical in every other respect. SD70M-2 models are rated at 4,300 horsepower (3,200 kW) each.|
