The Crimson is a variant of the AD60 Beyer Garratt locomotives. Seen in service on Australian railways, 50 of these units were ordered, but only 42 delivered. Avaliable for completing the #21 George quest, and part of the Crimson Train set. The passenger/mail combination Queen 500 wagons and the passenger Red 500 wagons complete its set, and will also match a Ruby set. The Ruby engine is no longer available. | |||||

AD60 was the first appearance of the Beyer-Garratt type locomotive on the New South Wales Government Railways. This type of articulated unit had seen considerable use on the narrow gauge lines of Australian systems for many years. Twenty five locomotives, and subsequently a further twenty five, were ordered from Beyer, Peacock and Co., but just forty two complete locomotives were delivered.
