The GE AC44i is a diesel-electric locomotive built by General Electric, initially provided for MRS, is the first AC traction unit commercially made available in Brazil. It is very similar to the Dash9 models, differing mainly on its bogies. More than 300 AC44i units have been produced in Brazil and in the USA, while MRS is its bigger operator.
