|The T449 was a double-engined, four-axle (B-B) diesel-hydraulic prototype locomotive built for Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) in 1959. Both engines were using hydro-dynamic transmissions with reduction and reverse gears, allowing the locomotive to run in either direction or double its power by halving the top speed from 70 to 35km/h. The project was later canceled with only two pieces built. The reason was lack of interest in double engined locomotives .|
